Dr Tu previously worked in the breast oncology department of the Fifth Medical Center of the Chinese PLA General Hospital (formerly 307 Hospital), where she took part as an investigator in several international and national multicentre clinical trials.

Her practice covers the medical management of solid tumours and haematological malignancies — targeted therapy, immunotherapy and biological chemotherapy — with breast cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer and lymphoma as her principal research areas. She has published a number of papers in Chinese and international journals.
