Professor Wang leads the thoracic oncology programme at the hospital. His practice centres on the surgical treatment of esophageal, lung, breast and mediastinal tumours, and on combining that surgery with radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy to build a treatment plan around the individual patient rather than a single technique.
He also has extensive experience with radiofrequency ablation of pulmonary metastases and with hyperthermic perfusion for malignant pleural effusion, two situations in which timing and technique choice matter as much as the procedure itself. The result is a treatment sequence that is judged case by case — when to operate, when to irradiate, when to add systemic therapy, and how to keep the patient strong enough throughout.
