MD · Professor · Doctoral Supervisor

Consultant, Breast Oncology

Minimally invasive breast surgery and the full spectrum of breast cancer care — early diagnosis, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and endocrine therapy, including advanced and refractory disease.

Professional Profile

Professor Liao holds a doctorate in breast oncology and a French DESS degree. She trained in breast surgery at the French National Cancer Centre (1997-1999), at Ohio State in the United States (2003), in breast cancer medical oncology at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense (2006), and at MD Anderson Cancer Center (2014).

She has worked exclusively in single-disease breast oncology for many years, which gives her unusual depth in difficult cases: minimally invasive breast surgery, early diagnosis, and the sequencing of chemotherapy, targeted therapy and endocrine therapy — particularly for locally advanced, recurrent and refractory breast cancer. She has published more than thirty papers as first or corresponding author and holds several National Natural Science Foundation grants as principal investigator.
